THE first of the Mercian Festival Junior Football League's six finals on Sunday (May 1) at Langland Stadium is another milestone in the history of the league.
It is the first ever 11-a-side girls' final, which will be contested at U13s age group. This is followed by the U13s boys' final, which sees league newcomers Norton Athletic attempting to achieve a league and cup double.
In the next game, the boys' U15s, Drakes Broughton Rangers will also be attempting to achieve a league and cup double.
Newtown Sports Juniors are well represented, reaching three finals.
They face league leaders Harvington in the U12s and last year's U15s winners Peopleton Juniors in the U16s, a game which should provide a grand finale to a long day.
