FUNDRAISER Kayt Wilkinson is hitting the heights with a terrifying - but boring - charity challenge.
Kayt plans to sit for six hours at the top of an enormous mechanised platform at Eastnor Castle's Steam and Woodland Fair, more than 80 feet up in the air.
She hopes her hair-raising attempt will raise more than £750 in sponsorship for Malvern Special Families, where she volunteers as a playworker.
"It is pretty high but it doesn't worry me as I'm not frightened of heights or anything," said Kayt, who works for Arborplant Ltd, a Malvern firm that hires out the access platforms and other commercial plant equipment.
The platform is normally used for tree work and repairing pylons.
She said six hours would probably seem like a very long time perched all alone.
"I'll probably take a book to read and something to eat to pass the time. There's no point making it even harder than it already is," said Kayt.
She hopes to make as much money as possible for Malvern Special Families and has already raised £200 through a fundraising web page.
Mike Higley, Malvern Special Families co-ordinator, said: "Kayt is a real inspiration. She's taken the initiative and come up with a wonderful idea to raise money for local children."
A registered charity, Malvern Special Families provides family support services and a range of activity clubs for children with disabilities or special needs in both Malvern and Worcester.
The Octopussy 2714 access platform will be at its maximum height of 27 metres for Kayt's charity bid on Sunday, May 29. Anyone who would like to sponsor her can visit her fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/msfkayt.
