WEST Malvern travelled to second-in-the-table Hanley Swan and up until half-time they were doing well.
HANLEY SWAN 6, WEST MALVERN 2
The game opened brightly, with both sides striving to make the breakthrough. After ten minutes, Hanley took the lead with a disputed offside-looking goal.
West Malvern rallied and after 25 minutes they were level, a shot from Anthony Orgee completely deceived the Hanley keeper and bounced into the net. Hanley came back strongly and scored again just before half-time.
The second-half was a disaster for West Malvern. On the 50th minute they conceded a penalty, five minutes later pulling a goal back from Anthony Holder. But then West Malvern once again conceded a second penalty. For the last 20 minutes Hanley dominated the game, scoring two more goals.
Tomorrow (Saturday) West Malvern, sponsored by the Cross Keys and Amey, entertain Fernhill Heath and in their last league game, on May 7, they entertain Fernhill Heath again in the re-arranged Phipps Cup game. Kick- off for both games is 3pm. Players report to the dressing room 2.15pm.
