A SPECIALIST firm will be employed to look at fixing the ventilation at Malvern Splash leisure centre.
Malvern Hills District Council's executive committee, which met on Tuesday, agreed to hire Landmark Management Services to examine the problem.
Users of the fitness suite and dance studio have been complaining about excessive warmth and humidity since the Splash was refurbished in 2003.
Extra cooling units have been installed, but have not solved the problem. More work has to be carried out to stop heat and moisture from the pool and plant room getting in to the fitness suite and dance studio.
The refurbishment was originally budgeted at £1.5 million but criticism was levelled at the council when spending rose by £310,000
The overspend does not include putting the ventilation system right, which is estimated at another £110,000.
Landmark will be expected to provide a detailed specification and estimate for the job.
