A DAVIES' letter headlined "Far better life under Labour" reads as if Labour's election campaign team composed it.

What does Mr Davies have to say of Labour selling off half our gold reserves to buy euros? Hasn't Tony Blair been forced to go to the country early because he can't hide the £12bn in tax rises that are now necessary?

And doesn't Mr Blair know that a Labour election victory would be virtually impossible, if he didn't go to the country, before he loses the looming European Constitution vote?

What a travesty of democracy our general election is going to turn out to be. Half of us won't vote for the parties and policies on offer. Yet in a couple of weeks Labour, probably with Liberal Democrat support, will be crowing about another election victory. Politics is rotten to the core in our country, and it's a wonder we the people aren't passing out from the stench of the putrid political prose now being heaped upon us.

N TAYLOR,

Worcester.
