TWO hundred walkers have already signed up for the 21st annual Malvern Hills Walk for St Richard's Hospice, due to be held on Saturday, May 21.
With just over a month to go, organisers are expecting a flurry of entries to join the two, five or 11-mile walk - the largest annual fund-raising event in the hospice calendar. Last year, more than 700 people took part in this family fun day raising a record £36,000 towards the hospice work for patients and families with cancer and other life-threatening illness.
Tricia Cavell, fund-raising manager for St Richard's Hospice, said the event was a great day out and there were routes for all ages and fitness levels.
"We've got families with babies, people celebrating birthdays, individuals, groups and dogwalkers - everyone is welcome."
The Malvern Sea Cadets will be on hand catering for those who have built up an appetite, and St John's Ambulance are available to support the walkers.
There is no entry fee but participants are asked to donate their sponsorship money to St Richard's. For more information please contact the fund-raising team on 01905 763963.
