DROIT\WICH rider Chris Jones ended his miserable run of luck in the British GP Championship by grabbing a podium place at Oulton Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
The gifted 14-year-old went into the fourth round failing to finish the previous three.
However, the Droitwich Spa High School pupil bounced back to finish in third place.
The Honda rider slipped from fifth to eighth place after a poor start, but found a higher gear.
By the tenth lap Jones had smoothly moved into third place and produced a mature performance to cross the finishing line on his Honda RS125.
He said: "I'm really happy to have finished the race and to be on the podium is a fantastic bonus.
"I think it has boosted my confidence and restored my faith in my own ability.
"I now feel much more relaxed heading to round five of the championship."
