A delighted couple have moved out from under their parents' feet and into their first home after being offered one of 10 luxury two-bedroom apartments built to be within the budget of ordinary people.

Natalie Hazell, aged 20 and 31-year-old Nicholas Burford said they were amazed when they were offered one of the apartments in St Agatha's Court, Head Street, Pershore.

"We applied to be housed a while ago, we really didn't think we were going to get anything," said Natalie.

"This is our first home together. We have both moved out from our parents' houses.

"The apartment is really lovely - we couldn't have expected any more.

"It has lots of room and really nice features. I couldn't fault it. We're going to be really happy here."

The Evesham and Pershore Housing Association complex cost just over £900,000 to build and was part-funded by a grant of £400,000 from the Housing Corporation.

"We really are committed to providing neighbourhoods where people want to live," said chairman Allan Brace.
