A BIG thank you to your readers for their magnificent generosity following the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster.
It has helped to create a £300m fund that is making a real difference to over three million people affected by the disaster.
The Disasters Emergency Committee, which acts as an umbrella for Britain's 12 leading aid agencies during major humanitarian crises, has already allocated over £112 million for the first phase of disaster relief, funding work including the provision of food, water and shelter. The rest of the fund will be spent over at least the next three years.
