I FEEL that your most recent coverage on the future of Droitwich Spa's lido, SALT's campaign and the details of the Parish Poll printed in the Public Notices section of your paper on April 20 failed signally to clarify it was literally only Droitwich Spa residents who were permitted to vote for (or against)the proposed resolutions.
I must admit that I read 'parish poll' but with current political electioneering failed to assimilate 'parish' and press coverage seemed to urge everybody to vote.
Our postal address is Droitwich Spa, our Council Tax is paid to Wychavon District Council and we are on the Electoral Register so my husband and I assumed that we would be able to vote.
When we arrived at the mobile polling stations at The Red Lion we learned our error. Other would-be voters who don't live in Droitwich town were as dismayed as we were.
I wonder how many potential voters were under the same misapprehension?

l Sorry you missed out, but our coverage throughout the Lido campaign has always made it clear this was a Droitwich Spa Parish Poll, while the Public Notice also listed the postcode areas from where people were eligible to vote.
