ON April 14, Marion greeted us for our social evening. Matters arising, we discussed the preparations to celebrate the 60th anniversary of VE Day, to be held at Hanbury Hall on the weekend of April 23.
We will have a stall depicting wartime food rations, showing how families managed to make the most of available foods, including home produce.
Clare asked us to think of ideas for Hanbury 2010, with photos showing features of Hanbury, also the possibilities of a collage or similar artistry.
We were then served with a very appetising selection of cheese and biscuits and wine or fruit juice. Clare and Mary won a quiz organised by Greta with abbreviated clues, which we found very tricky.
Greta's friend Clare Harman kindly visited us again and demonstrated further line dances, which we did our best to learn, and found most enjoyable.
The competition The Oldest Coin was won by May.
