A TOWN detective has received a top award.
Detective Constable Glyn Jones received the Chief Constable's Commendation for demonstrating diligence, patience and painstaking attention to detail, with determination to follow through a difficult and lengthy inquiry to a successful conclusion.
The officer helped to ensure long prison sentences for two serious and persistent burglars.
The two, from the Bromsgrove area, had carried out a series of distraction burglaries, targeting elderly people in rural areas across Worcestershire.
DC Jones, who received the award from Chief Constable Paul West, played a pivotal role in bringing the men to justice. Earlier this year one was sentenced to seven years in prison and the other got five years.
