A TERRIFIED woman was left shaken after being stoned by youths outside her home in Rubery.

The horrible incident in Maple Road happened less than three months after a section 30 order, preventing youths gathering in the area, was lifted.

The 64-year-old left her bungalow at around 6pm on Wednesday April 20, to ask the gang of six youngsters to move on after she heard them playing football and noticed them kick their ball at her husband's car.

When she spoke to the gang they became aggressive, began to shout insults and then started to throw stones at her. One of the stones hit her in the face leaving her badly bruised.

The youths ran off in an unknown direction and police were called.

The woman, who was too scared to be named, said: "I didn't want to go out to them at first, but had to because they kicked the ball at the car three times.

"When I told them to go to the park to play football they started to throw stones and one hit me on the side of the face. They have no respect for people. I would not go outside to them again."

Rubery beat manager PC Jayne Willetts said: "Police are investigating the incident and would appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward."

Sergeant Stuart McDonald added: "Reintroducing the dispersal order is an option if it is required."
