I WOULD like to thank all the people who organised the St George's Day events in Alvechurch.
It was a day of activity - children's games, St George slaying the dragon and rescuing the damsel from the church tower by abseiling down, the real ale marquee for quenching everyone's thirst, the teas served by the WIs, the church service and finally, the fish and chip supper.
We were so exhausted after the Last Night of the Proms that we forgot to thank the bar and waiting staff, the morris dancers, Alvechurch Drama Group for the Olde Tyme Music Hall and that well-known local person, Dame Clara, for leading us into the proms with Rule Britannia.
Thanks to all. It was a lovely day.
