A REDDITCH motorcycle dealership is hoping to horsepower its way to success in the Isle of Mann TT in June after buying one of last year's British Championship winning superbikes.
Action Motorsports, of New Meadow Road, Lakeside, has just taken delivery of an exclusive highly-tuned Triumph Daytona 600 racing bike used by the ValMoto team last year.
The firm has entered bikes in the TT before but never a spruced-up monster like this and it took owner Steve Taylor several months of negotiation with ValMoto boss Jack Valentine to acquire it.
In the last three TT races, Action entered a Daytona 955i and two Daytona 600s production road bikes.
The best result was last year, when they won the Joe Craig Trophy for the top British entrant on a British machine.
Mr Taylor said: "After the organisers decided to drop the Production 600 race in favour of two TT Supersport races for tuned 600s, we had to make a decision.
"Pure road racing has always been my passion from watching Phil Read and Bill Ivy racing each other in the mid-60s at the Ulster Grand Prix.
"The rule change and Triumph increasing the capacity of the Daytona 600, has given me the excuse to run a proper race bike in the TT.
"This has allowed me to fulfil my road racing ambitions as well as reinforcing our commitment to Triumph."
The bike will be ridden by Andrew Marsden as number 45.
