Tenbury United Reserves 0

KS Athletic 2

AFTER taking a Kidderminster League Division 1 point at high-flying KS Athletic last week the Reserves held their own again in the return fixture at Palmer's Meadow on Saturday, before succumbing to two late goals.

Tenbury played exceptionally well in the first half when they could have built up a commanding lead. Jackie Magill went through one-on-one with the keeper but sliced the ball just wide, then Richard Wozencroft had a couple of good chances. First he saw his accurate shot well-saved by the keeper after being put through by Brett McIntosh, and then shot fractionally over after beating three players.

The visitors obviously had a stiff pep-talk during the break and came out looking dangerous in the second half. If Roger Dovey, in the home goal, was under-employed in the first half he certainly earned his corn in the early exchanges of the second.

With McIntosh and Richard Jay pulling out all the stops, the Reserves battled back to restrict play to midfield until the Athletic struck five minutes from time. Tenbury threw caution to the wind but were caught out in the final minute to leave the score flattering the visitors.
