EVESHAM United celebrated their promotion to the Southern League Premier Division by holding their end-of-season dinner awards evening at the Evesham Marine.

The first team's supporters' player of the season was won by striker Jermaine Clarke and Anthony Watson received the players' player award.

Captain Gavin O'Toole was the manager's player of the season and defender Steve Hands won a special committee award.

Before the game against Bromsgrove Rovers on Saturday, Richard Porter was presented with a silver salver by chairman Jim Cockerton to mark 30 years service with the club.

Presentations were made to Evesham's youth team who enjoyed a successful Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division campaign. Tom Wilmot scooped the manager's award, Christopher Lynes the players' player and Will Gayton the best young player.

Evesham United Ladies, who play in the county league, were also handing out their accolades.

Players' player went to Lola Hughes, manager's player to Laura Westwood and most improved player was Kelly Grove.

Meanwhile, Steve Hillman was honoured by his fellow Bromsgrove Rovers team-mates at their annual presentation evening.

Captain Hillman, who has made 50 appearances for Rovers this season, was players' player of the season at the Victoria Ground awards night.

Hillman's efforts in getting the team into the Southern League Division One West play-offs were also acknowledged by the fans as he polled second in the supporters' player of the season.

That accolade went to Ross Collins, injured during the latter part of the campaign, while striker Paul Szewczyk claimed third place.

Worcester News sister newspaper the Bromsgrove Advertiser/Messenger picked out midfielder Riad Erraji as their player of the season.

Szewczyk's fellow hitman Leon Mitchell collected the gong for goal of the season following an effort against Marlow last October.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Ian Gandy was named playing clubman of the season and Carol Hodgkiss non-playing club person of the season.

Life membership awards were also made to Stephanie Hewings, Marc G Pullen and Michael Scott.
