MARTLEY Spurs held off a strong challenge from lower-ranked Powick to claim the Martley Cup.

Chris Collins gave Spurs a first-half lead but Worcester and District Saturday League Division One side Powick did not lie down.

In fact, they threatened enough for Martley's 'keeper Craig Gomersall to be awarded man-of-the-match.

Both sides were also given a brand new set of kit, courtesy of sponsors Worcester Tools and Fixings, before the final at St George's Lane.

The trophy presentations were made by the firm's manager Tony Richards.

The competition has raised £200 for both the County Air Ambulance and Wichenford Day Centre this season as well as £100 for Hereford General Hospital's intensive care unit.
