STEVE Rhodes is favourite to step into Tom Moody's shoes at Worcestershire.

The former County wicketkeeper, who finally hung up his gloves last year to become assistant coach at New Road , is expected to replace the current director of cricket if he takes up an international post.

Moody is in the running for both the Indian and Sri Lankan jobs, but the County always had contingency plans if the Australian decided to move on this season.

Worcestershire have a history of having two coaches on the payroll but took the decision to promote 'Bumpy' with Moody out of contract at the end of the season.

The former Australian Test star has made no secret of his desire to coach at the next level and it now looks only a matter of time before he lands one of the big jobs in international cricket.

With Sri Lanka looking for a speedy solution to their coaching problems and Moo-dy expected to be interviewed for the Indian post this month, the County could be looking for a replacement earlier than they thought.

Rhodes looks like the man to take over the reins alongside fellow assistant coach Damian D'Oliviera.

Meanwhile, Moody has named a provisional 11 for tomorrow's clash with Derbyshire. Worcestershire take on the side they beat by 10 wickets under a month ago in Division Two of the Frizzell County Championship.

The County will be at full strength for the first time this season and Moody is hopeful of victory after defeat against Lancashire.

"For one reason or another, we haven't had chance to field a full strength side so far this season," he said. "So it will be nice to go into a match with your full side."

South African Zander de Bruyn comes in for his first four-day game with the injured David Wigley missing out. De Bruyn has played two one-dayers since his belated arrival as the County's second overseas player, tasting defeat at Middlesex before the Scotland win.

Matt Mason will face a late fitness test on his hamstring so Nadeem Malik stands by.
