AN ex-Rover worker who advertised himself for hire in the Worcester News, and went on national TV with his plight, is still no nearer to finding another job.

Forty three-year-old father-of-two, Stewart Hart, spent 21 years at Longbridge as a process manager.

The Warndon Villages resident made headlines with his efforts to find work and, although he has been offered some jobs, he said they were below his capabilities.

"I've been offered some positions, but I wouldn't call them jobs they were that demeaning," he said.

"I have an interview for a management position on Friday locally and I hope that will be successful.

"I've scoured the internet, the papers, written to all the major car producers, but nothing has come off yet."

He said if the job interview this week is not successful, he will personally write to Tony Blair asking for employment.

"He is partly responsible for me ending up in this position, and so maybe he would like to employ me," he added.
