AN elderly man died at the wheel before smashing into a bus stop in Bromsgrove.
Frederick Wood, who is believed to be 84 and from Manor Court Road, had travelled the short distance along the Worcester Road on Monday when he was taken ill near to the entrance of Bromsgrove School at 11.45am.
His Austin Montego collided with a bus stop causing the road to be blocked for about an hour. Mr Wood was confirmed dead at the scene.
The cause of death is believed to be of natural causes and a post mortem is due to be carried out today (Wednesday).
