PARENTS and children rolled their sleeves up last Friday and dug out a new wildlife pond for Ombersley First School.
Children from the Droitwich Road school now have a pond in which they can study all manner of creatures and insects including birds, newts, frogs and 'mini-beasts' such as centipedes and worms.
Headteacher Gill Nixon said: "All the children in the school took part which was fantastic. We have already created a wildflower bed to add to the area. It provides a wonderful learning resource for the children and somewhere tranquil to sit for a while ."
She added: "Without the help of the parents we simply could not have achieved this so they deserve a big 'thank you'."
