THE Wheatland's fixture, the first ever Sunday point-to-point at Chaddesley Corbett, produced a nine-race marathon which saw five favourites score.

Eastnor handler Nicky Sheppard sent out two winners with Lost in the Snow successful in Division II of the Maiden, while Fanion De Neulliac took Division II of the Conditions Race.

Lost in the Snow benefited from a brilliant tactical ride by Julian Pritchard, allowing the Ledbury jockey to record his 350th winner between the flags.

Pritchard had his mount at the rear until halfway and were closing on the leaders when they made a serious error at the 16th.

This is a vital stage of a race, but Pritchard soon had his mount back on track and they set off in pursuit of their rivals.

They were still five lengths adrift at the penultimate but Pritchard set his mount alight between the final two fences and they began to make inroads into the leaders' advantage.

All three horses flew the last but Pritchard was in no mood to accept defeat and forced his mount up in the final strides.

Only two of the 42 entries for the Ladies' went to post and two became one when it was clear Barcelona was not relishing the conditions and Lorna Brooke wisely pulled him up at the seventh.

Workway was left to negotiate the remaining 11 fences alone which he did to give another winner for Martin and Belinda Keightleys stable at Condicote.
