AT the April meeting, John Boynton talked about "Railways of Worcestershire", illustrating his talk with slides of engines, rolling stock and stations in the county.
He reminded members of platform tickets and carriages without corridors, and concluded with pictures of Hagley Station, built in 1880, the signal box at Blakedown, built in 1870, and the Victoria bridge which was built at Coalbrookdale, and brought down the River Severn to be assembled at Arley.
The next meeting, at Chester Road Bowling Club, Kidderminster, will be on Wednesday when Mervyn Needham will talk about "Footsteps in the Andes".
