This weekend sees the start of the Worcestershire Sunday Club Cricket League - the sixth season for the competition.

And the organisers have announced new backing for the competition with the Fearnley Factory Shop sponsoring this season's games.

The WSCCL has been a major factor in keeping Sunday cricket alive across Worcestershire and a record-breaking 20 clubs are involved in this year's competition.

Both the 1st XI and the 2nd XI championships comprise a series of 15 matches. Redditch and Feckenham have sides in both competitions while Astwood Bank have opted for the 2nd XI event.

And with the continuing flow of young cricketers so vital, one of the main purposes of the 2nd XI competition is to develop young cricketers, helping them make the transition from 20 to 45 over cricket. Because of this clubs are asked to select five/six u17s in its 2nd XI side. More and more young players are now playing 1st XI cricket having started their adult cricket in the Sunday League.
