AN evening of musical fun and prose celebrating music from every era of the 20th century will bring Kidderminster Operatic and Dramatic Society 2004/2005 season to an energetic end this month.

KODS Kapers will be performed at Baxter College in Kidderminster next Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, and include pieces by the likes of Gilbert and Sullivan and Cole Porter.

Works by Ivor Novello, Irving Berlin and Gershwin will also feature on the jam-packed agenda, as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kander and Ebb.

The music will be interspersed with light-hearted prose, including a Black Country monologue performed by society stalwart Daphne Knight.

A barber shop quartet and "Three Old Maids of Kidderminster" will join the society's regular soloists Jill Parmenter, Claire Hadland and Sarah, Wendy and Julian Richards to perform a selection of favourite songs from the shows.

The audience will also be treated to a taster of the group's 2006 production of My Fair Lady.

Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, can be obtained by calling Kay Paine on 01562 638864.
