SIXTY years after the guns fell silent in Europe, Redditch ex-servicemen and women, as well as younger generations, came together to remember VE Day on Sunday.
A ceremony was held at St Stephen's Church in the town centre, which organisers also felt was an appropriate date to dedicate the new Holocaust Memorial in the church grounds.
Residents of all faiths were invited to the remembrance and dedication ceremony led by The Rev Andrew Smith.
A nationwide service marking the anniversary of VE and VJ Day will be held on Sunday, July 10.
