MUMS and mums-to-be were invited to join midwives, health visitors and other mums at Worcester's Guildhall to find out why breast is best for their babies.
The coffee morning was held as part of Breastfeeding Awareness Week, which runs until Saturday.
"Many women don't realise just how important breastfeeding their baby is as it provides the perfect ready-made nutrition for the first six month of their child's life," said midwife Penny Turton.
Health visitor Julia Greer agreed, saying: "Breast-feeding gives a baby protection from stomach bugs and chest infections. No special equipment is needed and no time is taken mixing and heating.
"It helps develop the strong, emotional bond between mother and baby.
"Breast milk can be expressed so Dad and other family members can enjoy helping feed the new member of the family."
Beastfeeding also helps a new mum to regain her shape and longer term it can reduce the risk of pre-menopausal breast and ovarian cancer - and it does not cost a penny.
"Everyone can do it," Ms Greer added.
