THIS game decided third and fourth place in the Worcester Sunday League division two and Radar were clear winners.

MARTLEY RESERVES 0, MALVERN RADAR 5

Darren Baker opened the scoring on 20 minutes when he latched onto a pass from Matt Brookes and knocked the ball wide of Carl Redman in the Martley goal.

Matt Brookes made it 2-0 soon afterwards when he burst through the middle to score easily.

With Mark Brookes controlling midfield, Radar were playing well although Martley battled and nearly pulled a goal back when Dan Mayfield's rocket-shot took a slight deflection and Radar keeper Steve Green did well to palm the ball over the bar.

Martley were the better team for the opening exchanges of the second half but stout defending kept them out. Matt Brookes made it 3-0 with a looping effort which flew over the back-pedalling Redman.

Mark Brookes then scored a well-deserved goal with a cool finish from 12 yards. With the Radar front-two tiring they introduced Steve Harness and Nick Ball to liven things up. It paid dividends when Ball reacted quickest in a goalmouth scramble to grab Radar's fifth in the closing stages.

Radar won eight of their last 10 games which saw them shoot up the league table and finish a very enjoyable season with a flourish.
