WEST Malvern completed their season on Saturday with a rearranged Phipps Cup match against Fernhill Heath Spurs, which ended in the same result as the match the week previously.

WEST MALVERN 7, FERNHILL HEATH SPURS 1

West Malvern made the early running and were a goal up inside seven minutes when Mitchell Probert drove the ball home.

They then went on a goal-scoring spree when Anthony Holder completed a hat-trick within seven minutes, scoring in the 23rd, 25th and 30th minutes. Although they continued to miss chances, they scored a fifth just before half-time with Mitchell Probert scoring with ease.

After 60 minutes, Fernhill Heath reduced the arrears with a poor goal-keeping effort. In the 70th minute, West Malvern should have gone further ahead when awarded a penalty but Mitchell Probert blasted the ball over the bar.

He made up for the miss by scoring two more goals in the 85th and 88th minutes, to give him a personal tally of four.

Fernhill Heath should be congratulated although conceding seven goals for the second week running they continued to try but created very few chances.

West Malvern have now completed their fixtures for the season and would like to thank Reg and Ann at the Cross Keys for their kind hospitality. They would also like to thank them for their sponsorship and also Amey for joint sponsorship.
