THE Conservatives have gained Gloucestershire County Council from no overall control.
The party won 33 seats to secure a clear majority of three on the council, victories including the Newent seat, which was retained by Will Windsor-Clive.
Result: Newent ward: Will Windsor-Clive (Con), 3,153; Joan Curtis (Lib Dem), 1,857; Paul Keen (Lab), 1087.
