The Elgar Chorale will stage a Celebration of English Music in Worcester.
The event, at All Saints' Church, Deansway, tomorrow (Saturday), at 7.30pm, includes work by Edward Elgar, Vaughan Williams and William Boyce.
The programme mixes chorale and orchestral works. On the orchestral side, there is Boyce's Worcester Overture and Delius' On Hearing the Last Cuckoo in Spring, both played by the Elgar Camerata. The Chorale will sing Elgar's From the Bavarian Highlands, along with unaccompanied pieces by Finzi and Vaughan Williams.
The concert will finish with a performance of Hymnus Pascalis, a dramatic piece for choir, orchestra and organ, composed by Donald Hunt. Tickets are £7.50 or £5 (concs £6, £4), from Huntingdon Hall on 01905 611427.
