CULT godfather of the Americana scene Jason Ringenberg will be dropping in on Worcester as part of a major UK tour.
Illinois-born Ringenberg is regarded by many as one of the key figures in alt country music, a genre he practically invented in the 80s with his seminal band of raucous cowpunks The Scorchers.
Releasing the EP Restless Country Soul in 1982, the band went on to be critically acclaimed both in the US and in the UK, releasing a number of albums including Fervor (1983) and Lost And Found (1985), after which the band split.
Ringenberg has since embarked on a successful solo career and his musical wizardry can be caught at Worcester's Marr's Bar on Sunday, May 15. Tickets are £7 or £8 on the door.
