HOODED youngsters will remain free to roam Worcester's CrownGate Shopping Centre, its manager has announced.
It comes after managers at the country's largest shopping centre - Bluewater in Kent - decided to ban all youngsters from wearing 'hoodies' following complaints from customers.
The move had been backed by Kent Police which has a dedicated on-site team.
Prime Minister Tony Blair and deputy John Prescott are among those politicians who have supported the move.
But CrownGate centre manager Carolyn Mantle said that people would not be barred from the centre because of their clothing.
"As a centre we work hard to ensure our shoppers not only feel safe but are safe whilst shopping with us," she said.
"We also work hard to make the shopping as pleasant as possible for all our customers and, whilst we've noted Bluewater's move with interest, we'll continue to welcome our shoppers regardless of their fashion preferences."
Meanwhile Worcester city centre manager Georgia Smith said there had been no problems with hooded youngsters in Worcester.
