IF Tony Blair, New Labour and Charles Kennedy's Lib Dems have stopped patting themselves on the backs, the hugely emotional scenes across the United Kingdom for VE Day might encourage both parties to rethink their desire to give this wonderful and proud country to Europe by capitulation.
Perhaps the Europhiles such as Margrett, Spiteri and even perhaps the voters of Claines who elected the Lib/Dem Europhiles to the city and county councils, will also have a rethink.
I am led to believe the topic of Europe was not on their agenda.
A desire not to mention the 'E' word was demonstrated by the silence from Worcester's leading Europhile, Paul Henry Griffiths, chairman of the local Lib Dems.
