KABIR Ali is set for a late fitness test before taking on Yorkshire tomorrow.

The Worcestershire pace bowler, who missed yesterday's totesport win over Notts, has a knee problem.

David Leatherdale, who pulled up during the Notts clash with an Achilles injury, misses out of the Cheltenham & Gloucester second round clash at Headingley so director of cricket Tom Moody names a 13-man squad.

Wicketkeepers Steve Davies and James Pipe are both included as is seam bowler Nadeem Malik.

"Kabir has a slight niggle behind his knee," said Moody. "He could have played yesterday against Nottinghamshire but we thought there was no point in risking him."

Worcestershire go into the match high on confidence following two successive victories. After wrapping up another easy win over Derbyshire, the County saw off Notts with a polished bowling display and Moody believes his side have little to fear against Yorkshire.

"It's not an easy place to go and win but we've done just that in recent times," said Moody. "If we play with the same sort of spirit that we have in the last few games then I'm confident that we can come away with a win.

"The C&G is a competition where we have had success in the past two seasons but haven't been able to finish the job off at Lord's. We'd like to go all the way and come away with some silverware this time around."

Moody was particularly pleased with his bowling attack yesterday as Worcestershire defended a relatively flimsy 190.

"I thought our spinners were excellent yesterday," added the Aussie. "Ray Price and Gareth Batty bowled exceptionally well while Zander de Bruyn was excellent."

Moody admits that the Zimbabwean is in his thoughts for the County Championship. Worcestershire take on Essex this week.

"Ray will travel to Chelmsford because it can always turn there," he said.
