THE new mayor of Droitwich has been officially sworn into office.
Coun Richard Morris, whose motto is 'Droitwich Spa, better by far' was welcomed to his new role by former mayor Ann Taft.
The 44-year-old, who has been on the town council for the last seven years, said he was looking forward to a busy year of duties and fund-aising events for his chosen charities St Richard's Hospice, Worcestershire Association of Carers and the Royal British Legion.
Coun Morris, a former Droitwich High School pupil, will be accompanied on official appointments by the new Mayoress - his mum Dorothy.
