STUDENTS with brain injuries who have been learning to get their independence back have had their efforts rewarded.

Members of the Acquired Brain Injury Group at Worcester College of Technology have been learning life skills that their injuries have caused them to forget or become less familiar with.

In what was one of Worcester Mayor Allah Ditta's last official engagements before handing the chains of office over at tonight's city council meeting, he presented certificates to 25 students at the Guildhall yesterday. Course leader Debbie Morris is thrilled with the progress that they have made.

"It's absolutely fabulous what some of them have achieved," she said.

"To come back to college and re-learn skills that they have lost because of their injuries is amazing."
