LADIES Day at Worcester Racecourse looks set to be a galloping success with almost all 200 places booked for the St Richard's Hospice special event.

Callow End based Jim Lewis, owner of three times Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate, will be on hand to chat to guests and go through the day's race card on Saturday, June 4.

Jim, who is patron of the St Richard's New Hospice Appeal, will also be putting on display the famous three Gold Cups and two King George cups won by Best Mate and his stable companion Edredon Bleu.

A tipster for the day will be offering advice on the likely winners in the biggest race fixture of the year at the Pitchcroft race course and Kate Alcock of television's Flog It will be running an auction. An on-course raffle for all race goers will include signed racing memorabilia.

St Richard's community fund-raising manager, Tricia Cavell said: "We are hoping our special corporate hospitality packages, auction and raffle will help us to raise around £30,000 this year towards our patient care services and towards our New Hospice Appeal."

There is still a chance to book the one remaining table of 10 and a handful of individual tickets at £80 each. To book a place call 01905 763963.
