NEXT season will see two teams promoted and relegated to and from Cricket's Frizzell County Championship Division One.
The First Class For-um, comprising 18 counties and the MCC, voted for a two-up, two-down system for the 2006 season onwards.
Since the County Championship was split into two divisions five years ago, three teams have been promoted and relegated.
But yesterday it was decided to reduce the number after campaigning by Kent, who believe the change will aid the game.
The same change will apply to the totesport League and there will be a play-off for the final promotion and relegation spot with the third-placed Second Division county playing the seventh-placed Fir-st Division team.
