WORCESTERSHIRE'S men's team failed to win a match at the County Championship preliminary rounds.
However, the team drew three of their four Pool Four matches and only suffered one defeat in Devizes over two days of action.
They opened with a 4-4 draw against Shropshire, having trailed at half-time, before ending the first day's play with a 3-3 draw against Warwickshire.
On the second day, Worcestershire drew 3-3 with Somerset, despite leading 2-1 at the interval.
They were finally edged out 6-5 by hosts Wiltshire in their final game to finish fourth out of five in their pool.
Meanwhile, Herefordshire recorded one win from four matches to finish third in Pool Seven.
First-day defeats, 3-1 against Cambridgeshire and 7-3 to Cheshire, left Herefordshire bottom-but-one.
But turning a 2-1 half-time deficit into a 4-3 victory over Army, followed by a 2-2 draw with the Isle of Man, transformed their fortunes.
