ROYAL Mail's area general manager has praised staff in Herefordshire and Worcester-shire following the publication of the latest delivery figures.
The independently produced statistics show the amount of First Class mail being delivered the next day in the HR and WR postcode areas has exceeded the 91 per cent target.
"Staff and managers have done a fantastic job to produce some of the best results we have ever delivered to customers in the area," said Dave Schofield, who is responsible for mail delivery in the two counties.
"The success is even more impressive given the difficult start we had to the year, which has had a significant effect on the figures.
"Postmen and women have worked exceptionally hard to deliver a better service and they should be commended."
Between January and March this year, 95 per cent of First Class mail was delivered the next day in Hereford.
In Worcester, the figure was 94 per cent .
