I WAS intrigued by your picture and accompanying article in the Advertiser
on May 4 regarding 'New Road in the 1900s'.
Open countryside in view, the former Methodist Church, and College Road not yet constructed. Of course, not everything has changed though.
Your observation, "the road itself appears to be dirty and unswept" is as apt today as it was in the 1900s.
