Last week's extraordinary general meeting of the town council, called by the mayor, to discuss the future of the Lido and the result of the parish poll was obviously boycotted by most of the Conservative town councillors, the exceptions being Couns Anne Taft and Richard Morris.
Their excuses of a Wychavon District Council meeting, which finished late afternoon, will not suffice. The Lido and its future should be the priority of all town councillors.
The meeting proceeded without the missing councillors, making some positive decisions regarding the Lido and the Parish Poll.
Given that at the recent town meeting of April 25, there was a vote of no confidence passed against some of these councillors and given their obvious disinterest in the Lido's future. I believe these councillors should consider their position, do the honourable thing and resign with immediate effect from the town council.
