IN view of green transport options, and the fact that bus services should be a public service, why is the 37/38 bus service being cancelled?

There is certainly a demand for the 37/38 service, as I have noticed daily by observing the increasing queues waiting for the current hourly service, which is itself inadequate.

If a survey was carried out to investigate the need for the 37/38 service, then it must have been done at a time to produce misleading results to support a decision already made "behind closed doors".

And why wasn't there any public consultation? The whole thing appears to have been done very secretly.

If Worcester does have a green transport policy, to encourage people to leave their cars at home and use the bus, then cutting bus services is hardly the way to go. I am aware that Worcester has been given funding for sustainable transport solutions, funding that runs into the millions, so what is this money being wasted on if bus services are cut?

Is the bus company aware that pensioners living on the Bilford Road and Blanquette's Estate are going to be denied a bus service that they rely upon? So therefore could the decision to cancel the 37/38-bus service be reconsidered?
