ESTHER Rantzen officially opened Bromsgrove School's new building when she unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.

Maple House, at the Charford Road school, was opened by Esther in her role as chairwoman of the charity Childline, on Friday. The new building is for seven to ten-year-olds at Prep school.

The visit was organised by teacher Delyth Draper who works as a volunteer for Childline and who will be visiting India to establish links between UK and Indian schools.

She will also be taking over £1,000 raised by pupils at the school.

On the day, Esther was given a tour of the building before having lunch with the school's pupil listeners and being given a presentation from the pupil bullying committee.
