PUPILS from Hanbury First School took a step back in time last week to see what life was like for wartime evacuees.
The children dressed up in period clothes to take part in the Redrow Schools Partnership - a learning initiative sponsored by Redrow Homes - which allows children to work on long-term school activities at a National Trust property.
And scheme organisers chose the beautiful stately home Hanbury Hall to launch the project on Friday.
The pupils got into the blitz spirit by singing wartime songs and performing a drama.
Laura Hetherington, National Trust head of education and interpretation, said: "This partnership scheme is a vital part of the National Trust's young people, community and education programme."
