THE average person seeking help with their debts owes around 141 per cent of their annual income on credit cards and loans, research showed. ClearDebt.co.uk said 78 per cent of people who contacted it to set up an Individual Voluntary Arrangement owed more than they earnt in a year, and more than a quarter had unsecured debts greater than two years' pay.
