KIDDERMINSTER Victoria county league firsts fell to a second successive four-wicket defeat, this time to Barnards Green, in Division Two.

Batting first, the home team collected maximum batting points, but were disappointed to score only 200-5. On his debut for the club Andy Morley scored 54, and Alex Roden hit 61.

Two wickets for Dave Banister and KVCC captain Ian Kimberlin kept the hosts in the hunt but Barnards reached 203-6.

KVCC county league seconds were beaten by seven wickets by Barnards Green in their Division Two 2ndXI fixture.

KVCC batted first and scored 164, with Amrik Singh hitting 21, Dan Webb 51 and James Rine 26.

In reply Green were helped when KVCC dropped two catches. Oliver Sewell was the leading bowler, taking three wickets.

KVCC county league thirds came unstuck against Old Elizabethans in Division Six. Sent in to bat on a great wicket KVCC prospered despite the early loss of Paul Edwards.

Fern Bagley, Simon Trickett, Ian Sadler, Glyn Thomas and Any Logan all contributed useful runs but the star was Kyle McAlister who finished not out on 117 in a total of 286 for 6 after 45 overs.

It seemed like a winning score but wayward bowling and useful hitting by the OE batsmen saw the visitors cruise to 287 for 3 with Fitzgibbon not out on 136.

All the bowlers stuck to their task but only Lee Daniels had much success with 2-48.
