STOURPORT'S Bevan Neill earned the man-of-the-match award during his side's 60-run victory over Avoncroft in Division Three. He claimed 5-25 and hit 59 with the bat, to help his side to clinch the maximum 24 points.

Stourport won the toss and opted to bat, and looked set at 97-1. Then a collapse saw them post just 150 all out in 46 overs.

Richard Savery chipped in with 28, while four wickets each were taken by Athey and James.

The Avoncroft innings folded in the 35th over at 90 all out. Adam Sellick took three wickets.Stourport seconds were unable to bowl out their visitors and had to settle for a winning draw, taking 14 points in Division Three 2nd XI.

Asked to bat, Stourport posted 253-3 in their allotted 45 overs, James Taylor stroking his way to 91, with Bob Pittaway 45no, and Kevin Hughes 58no also making valuable contributions.

Avoncroft never really went for the target, so denied the home side the chance to gain maximum points, completing their innings on 167-6. Andy Goddard took 2-15 in his 11-over spell.
